Postpartum Overnight Care

Having a newborn in the home can be exhausting. Overnight care is ideal for families that want and need professional support during the night. Often, we don’t have family in town with us, as a postpartum professional and grandmother, I will provide you with the nurturing and caring, restful support a new mother’s body requires. This service is also ideal for a mother who has given birth by cesarean as your body will need the extra time to heal. Having an extra hand while recovering is ideal if you are breastfeeding. Overnight care gives time for the birth partner to rest as well.

Overnight care can also begin in the hospital if your birth partner is not available. With overnight hospital care, you are not alone; non-medical support is provided. With experience caring for mothers in the hospital system, you will receive professional attentive doula care and support.

What does overnight care involve? A typical overnight is from 9 pm to 5 am, or 10 pm to 6 am, this can be adjusted.

As your overnight caregiver I will hold your baby, tend to your baby’s needs, change diapers, bottle feed, burp, snuggle and bring your baby to you for nighttime feeding if you are breastfeeding.

I will also assist you with your care and replenish you with nighttime snacks and hydration, keeping your ‘nest’ well organized and accessible for you.
